Disco Zombie Witchdoctor
I never posted this one because I forgot what the theme was... so I was waiting for someone else to post their image from this theme... still waiting. =)

God(s) of the Elements + Bonus Lemur -and- Old Western + Snow Leopard
(Above) Theme: God(s) of the Elements + Bonus Lemur
I went back to graphite for this one and spent around 2.5-3 hours on him. I added just a "hint" of color to him in Photoshop to help show the various elements (water, fire, air, nature, earth). He's a craggy old fella. :)
The "Bonus Lemur" part of it is in the "fingers." >_>
(Above) Theme: Old Western + Snow Leopard
Lunch Sketch Group (~30 minutes).
I'm not particularly pleased with the anatomy, but ah well.

Ancient Chinese Warrior-Bard with Bonus Boar
Theme: Ancient Chinese Warrior-Bard with Bonus Boar
Something about the idea of a warrior-bard playing a hammer dulcimer on horseback just... amused me.
He has a stylized mask that is supposed to vaguely resemble a boar as well (hard to tell).
Two and a half hours in graphite.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Medieval) Plague Doctor with Bonus Owl
Theme: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Medieval) Plague Doctor with Bonus Owl.
I think I went a bit heavy on the owl. >_> I also regret not pursuing the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde bit more. Ah well!
Two hours in graphite.

Ancient Robotic Gargoyle with Bonus Chicken and Extra Bonus Cat
Theme: Ancient Robotic Gargoyle with Bonus Chicken and Extra Bonus Cat
I thought about toning this in greyscale (either with Copic markers or in Photoshop), but I instead decided to stick with the original ink rendering. I imagine there is some sort of magic (or tech?) that allows a field of energy to populate the wing areas to allow it to fly.
This was completed in about two and a half hours.
It's not terribly "ancient," I know. >_> Just imagine that it is all greened and stained copper!

Underground Firefighter with Bonus Bat
I was actually decently pleased with the lineart I had after the last session, but I had this mental image of the color palette and figured I'd slap on some quick color. Had I a bit of extra time, I'd probably nix the top portion entirely (the part with the crane and bat firefighter) and redo it to make it more dynamic.
Armored mole = awesome underground mount for firefighter bats, btw! ;)

Moving Garlic Fortress and Bonus Frog
Something about the idea of a Frog/Narwhal amused me. Sort of like those women and mermaids you see carved into the front of old ships.
50's Retro Scifi Plane + Bonus Frilled Lizard
I was finally able to use a scanner to scan my stuff, huzzah! Time to get caught up...
I admit this one is probably a bit more "lizard" than "bonus lizard," but my idea was an organic-type plane, with the frills acting as both wings as well as a stopping and maneuvering mechanism.
This stuff is SO much fun! :)

Shadow Ninja of the Dragon Octopus
Tonight's drawing was to be a combination of a dragon, ninja, octopus, and a shadow. So we had reference of all this stuff and if I ran into any hick ups all I had to do was look up at the screen and boom! There it is! But alas looking up turned out to be a bit of a challenge so I went on what I remembered of ninjas. In my head they were not Japanese assassins, they were friggen turtles with fancy red bandanas. Dragons, piece of cake - a lizard with a cool goatee and bat wings. And a shadow? It's a friggen silhouette based on a light source. Right? Well those last two didn't appeal as much as the first ones so that's why they don't appear in my drawing.
So this is what I ended up with.
